Christmas Appeal 2021

WAW Christmas Appeal 2021 – Give some Ho! Ho! Hope!

Help us to continue to help animals in need

It’s continued to be a strange time everyone, Covid-19 continues to impact our activities, we have seen a significant increase in the demand for our services and support, plus many of our fundraising opportunities are still affected.

As the coronavirus situation continues, this perfect storm means we need your support more than ever to survive these uncertain times, so we can continue to help animals now into the future.

This Christmas we are asking you to help animals in need, many of them innocent victims of the pandemic.

Another strange year

Despite the pandemic, there are still animals in need of rescue and in need of homes - our rescue has remained active throughout the past two years, with our doors remaining open to help animals in need.

Between January – October 2021, we have:

Rescued/rehomed over 800 animals:

  • 363 Cats
  • 160 Dogs
  • 95 Rabbits
  • 14 Guinea Pigs
  • 8 Gerbils
  • 5 Ferrets
  • 3 Rats
  • 170 Chickens
  • 2 Owls
  • 2 Tortoises

Neutered 390 animals:

  • 244 cats
  • 73 dogs
  • 3 GP
  • 70 rabbits

We work 365 days a year to provide for the animals in our care, including all through the festive season.

This year we have yet again taken in pets from people who have sadly died, lockdown pets that were no longer wanted when people went back to work, sickly puppies that have been bred to meet the increased demand, pets who people could no longer afford to keep due and supported the community by offering pet food to those in need and much more.

How you can help the animals

All the animals in our care really want is a home for Christmas, but until that happens, we need to make sure they are well looked after, cared for, and most importantly loved.

With your help we can make sure that the animals in our care have a great Christmas and that we can continue to help them and the community into the future.

There are many ways you can help and get involved:
