The importance of vaccinations for your pets
Vaccinations (or jabs / needles) protect pets from potentially deadly diseases.
Many of the diseases we vaccinate again have no specific cure. Much of the veterinary treatment for these diseases only support the animal in hope that their immune system can overcome the infection.
Vaccination means that the immune system is taught to recognise and fight diseases your pet may encounter.
Does my pet need boosters?
You pets immunity following vaccination may wane over time and for certain diseases your pet will require and annual booster.
For other diseases your vet will decide when your pet requires these boosters depending on the risks your pet is exposed to.
Dogs, cats and rabbits need regular vaccinations, find out more about vaccinations on the PDSA website. www.pdsa.org.uk/taking-care-of-your-pet/looking-after-your-pet/all-pets/why-vaccinating-your-pet-is-important
