• Gino is a lovely boy who has sadly found himself needing a new home after his owner became unwell and was admitted to hospital.

This change in circumstances is through absolutely no fault of Gino’s, and we’re hoping this friendly little chap won’t have to wait too long for someone to offer him a fresh start.

Gino is a really nice, friendly dog who is comfortable being handled and touched all over. He’s housetrained, good on the lead and travels well in the car without getting sick. He’s also used to being left at home and copes well for reasonable periods.

Like many Terriers, Gino does have a mind of his own occasionally! His recall isn’t always reliable, so his new family will need to continue working on this and keep him secure when out and about.

He’s also something of an escape artist, which means a very secure, well-fenced garden will be essential in his new home.

A little less dinner, a little more walking…there’s no delicate way of putting it – Gino is currently carrying rather too much weight!

His new family will need to be committed to helping him reach a healthier weight through an appropriate diet and regular exercise. He has no known food intolerances, and we’re sure getting out for more walks and adventures will become an enjoyable part of his new routine.

Gino has previously lived with another dog, but he can be possessive around food and has fought with another dog over it. For this reason, we’re looking for a home where Gino will be the only dog and his food can be carefully managed.

He will chase cats, so he cannot live with cats, and we don’t know whether he has previously lived with any other types of animals.

We also don’t have enough information about Gino’s experience around children, so we’d prefer an adult home for him.

His new owners will need to understand his food guarding and be comfortable managing this appropriately, giving Gino his own space around meals and treats.

Gino’s life has changed unexpectedly, and what this lovely little Terrier needs now is a safe, secure and caring home where he can settle into his new routine.

He may need to lose a few pounds, brush up on his recall and resist the temptation to plan his next great escape, but underneath it all is a really nice dog who deserves the chance to be someone’s much-loved companion again.
