We are on the lookout for a newpart-time Administrator / Telephonist (with animal care support).

ABOUT YOU

You will need a positive can-do attitude, the ability to work under pressure and understand that animal rescue is not 9-5 and be willing to get involved in activities away from the day-to-day operations.

Excellent communication skills are a must as you must be confident working as part of a small team along with staff, volunteers, members of the public and trustees.

Experience of working in a similar environment would be an advantage, but passion with a willingness to learn is equally important.

The ideal candidate will also have strong administration, IT and organisational skills, have an excellent phone manner and be able to manage a wide range of tasks in this varied role.

THE ROLE

  • Hours: The role is currently 12 hours per week, Monday and Thursday, 10am – 4pm
  • Responsible to: The Board of Trustees of Warrington Animal Welfare
  • Location: Warrington Animal Welfare Rescue Centre, Warrington
  • Salary: National Living Wage

Primary Duties/Key Responsibilities:

  • Answering the charity telephone and dealing with range of queries.
  • Provide support on admin support on vet clinic days.
  • Responding to emails and messages.
  • Use of the charity database, filing, general paperwork (adoption, microchips, gift aid), whilst complying with the General Data Protection Regulations 2018.
  • Ad hoc duties as required – including hands on with animals when required e.g. helping with feeding and cleaning when needed and welcoming visitors to the site.

  • Health and Safety - ensure that H&S policy and procedures are adhered to and embedded to deliver effective and safe services and operations.
  • Equality and Diversity - apply and embed fairness and equality in both the delivery and offer of all services, to ensure that all staff and customers are treated fairly, to meet an individual’s personal circumstances.
  • Promote the Charity and its values and ethics in a positive manner.
