Services post Covid

Keeping safe at Warrington Animal Welfare Covid-19

Warrington Animal Welfare (WAW) services post Covid

Updated: June 2023

WAW has remained open throughout the pandemic, rescuing and rehoming animals in need.  During the pandemic we amended our services, which remain as follows:

  • Appointment only – visits to the rehoming centre are by appointment only (apart to drop off donation).  Please do not just turn up as we may not have the resources to deal with you at that time, and do not want to cause any disappointment.  Also, some animals are not at the centre, some are in foster homes, being rehomed from home or in third party locations.

  • Adopting an animal – if you are genuinely interested in adopting a specific animal, please keep an eye on our Facebook page and website.  If you see an animal you are interested in, use the inquiry form in the ‘adopt’ section, each animal has their own link to the form, please provide as much information as possible.  We can only reply to those applications we are progressing.  All adoptions are subject to a range of mandatory checks.  Find out more about the adoption process here.

  • Animal surrenders – all animal surrenders are by appointment only, please call first to discuss.

  • Vet Care (on-site clinic) – appointments will be made for members of the public coming to the site for veterinary care.

We remain extremely busy and continue to experience an increased demand for our services and we are doing our best to response as quickly and help as much as we are able.  On some occasion we may not be able to respond to all inquiries, or may take longer to reply, so we ask that you are patience.
