WAW Christmas Appeal 2022

Help us to continue to help animals in need!

It’s continued to be a strange time everyone, the cost-of-living crisis plus the ongoing impact of the pandemic has continued to see a significant increase in the demand for our services and support.

As the situation continues, this perfect storm means we need your support more than ever to survive these uncertain times, so we can continue to help animals now into the future.

This Christmas we are asking you to help animals in need, many of them innocent victims of what is going on in the world.

Another strange year

Despite these difficulties, there are still animals in need of rescue and in need of homes - our rescue has remained extremely busy, with our doors remaining open to help animals in need.

We work 365 days a year to provide for the animals in our care, including all through the festive season.

This year we have yet again taken in pets from people who have sadly died, lockdown pets that were no longer wanted when people went back to work, sickly puppies that have been bred to meet the increased demand, pets who people could no longer afford to keep due and supported the community by offering pet food to those in need and much more.

Between January – 6 November 2022 we have taken in and rehomed 100’s of animals:

  • 291 Cats
  • 104 Dogs
  • 29 Rabbits
  • 16 Guinea Pigs
  • Plus, the odd…Chickens, Cockatoo, Cockatiel, Rats, Gerbils and Tortoise

How you can help the animals...

All the animals in our care really want is a home for Christmas, but until that happens, we need to make sure they are well looked after, cared for, and most importantly loved.  With your help we can make sure that the animals in our care have a great Christmas and that we can continue to help them and the community into the future.

There are many ways you can help and get involved:
