Handsome Oscar came into the care of WAW in February 2023 after his owner callously dumped him from a car, along with two other dogs - he was emaciated and in very poor condition.
Oscar spent time in a foster home to get some TLC, gain some weight and learn to trust people again. Unfortunately, Oscar was more upset by his experience than we first thought, and he was returned to kennels, where he has been working with a professional to further build his trust.
Oscar needs a confident, experienced, adult only, calm home, where he is the only pet.
He is good in the home, housetrained, sleeps through the night, does not resource guard, and non-destructive. He is very strong on the lead but soon calms down, so needs someone who is strong, fit, and active. He also loves running and playing in our secure field.
Oscar is fine with other dogs out and about and travels well in the car.
Oscar is an independent character, who wants interaction with people on his own terms.
Please note that Oscar does not meet XL Bully criteria. WAW will continue to provide support for Oscar's new family to help him adjust into his new home.
